The Rosette Nebula  is an active Hydrogen region 5,500 light years away and 128 light years wide. It's estimated to contain around 10,000 solar masses.

The central hole is 30 light years wide and is being sculpted by solar windows from massive stars in the center. Our fastest spacecraft would take 47,000 years to cross the hole.

The denser orange regions consist of Hydrogen & Sulphur. The smoother, blue clouds are Oxygen.

The nebula extended over 1° of the sky which is  5 times that of a full Moon.
